We do recommend that you first learn the classical guitar as this instrument has nylon strings as opposed
to the steel strings usually found on an electric, acoustic or bass guitar. Nylon strings are much
easier on the fingers and you will find it easier to learn the correct technique by
starting this way. When you have mastered the technique you will be able to choose the type of guitar you prefer to
play.
Our music school employs the finest guitar teachers from around the world. Our guitar teachers are highly
qualified, most having been through music academy and achieved top music or teaching degrees.
If you would like to come down and visit the school, we advise that you come during the day: 10am to 3pm Monday to
Friday.
Our principal teacher or her assistant will take you on a guide of the music school and show you the classrooms
where guitar lessons take place.
All teachers (part-time and full) have been police checked. This is a major concern for
most parents and we take this very seriously.
Guitar Examinations
We are serious about examinations and choose the Associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music
(ABRSM) syllabus.
New students are taught the basics and correct techniques before moving on to grade 1.
How far you go is really up to you. We recommend practicing guitar at least half an hour per day to
see noticeable improvement.
Guitar Lesson Costs
Group guitar lessons are £11 for 1 hour
