"The course is a very good addition to my learning
material"
Hi Graham,
"I'm still going through some the exercises and finding them very useful indeed ("How to Get Your Hand Positions and Fingering
Right" in particular). It suprised me how clear the tutorials are despite being text only.
As with many people, I don't have a great deal of spare time so when lessons or tutorials are broken up into small chunks that
can be practiced for a few minutes here and there, it's very useful. I'm going to be practicing as much as possible and will
check out the Rocket Piano course fairly soon.
For people that don't play an instrument, I think the lack of progress at the beginning puts them off. Again, quick chunks with
real results is definitely the way to go.
Anyway, good work with the course, it's a very good addition to my learning material."
Many thanks, Mat Howlett

"I enjoyed the course and that it got me off to a good start"
"Hi Graham,
I would like to let you know that I enjoyed the course and that it got me off to a good start. I started learning keyboard in
March to play with my Granddaughters and having fun doing so. However, I would also like to learn piano, just for fun, that is
why I took your course. One thing that I would like to learn if you have any lessons on it, is how to play notes with the left
hand to accompany the right hand. I try but not working out right.
I practice everyday for about 30 minutes. I practice chords with the left hand but want to learn to do more. Thanks for the
lessons and hope that you have something to show me to continue using my left hand to help my music sound better."

Reply/ Hi Ray
Being able to use your left hand as well as your right just takes
practice and patience.
Try to sight read as much as you can.
I'll send you some more tips soon.
Best regards,
Graham Howard

"My goal is to play some Christmas carols by Christmas"
Hi Graham,
Yes, the course was helpful. I have a keyboard which I'm trying to learn how to play. I only want to learn how to read the treple
cleft and use chords for the bass cleft so I can learn some simple popular songs.
My goal is to play some Christmas carols by Christmas. I've figured out
how to make the major, minor, and 7th chords, but sometimes I don't know which fingers to use. I'm still memorizing notes on the
treple cleft, so it's going slow. But then, I've only been playing the keyboard for 3 days! Thank you for all your
help.

"For anyone who's just starting out on piano this course will help you get on your
way"
"Your course was really wonderful for
beginners. It covered all the basics and it was easy to understand. For anyone who's just starting out on piano this course
will help you get on your way.
I have been a self taught pianists
basically since I started. I had a really small stint of lessons (about a month's worth). I've pretty much just picked up
everything on my own. One of the things you said you'd be writing on was sight reading I could use some insight on these
questions about reading music. I learned to read music 8 years ago, but never really proficiently because I play by ear. My
dilemma is if I know the way a song is supposed to sound instead of reading the music I start picking out the notes
myself.
I also have a really hard time reading
sheet music to a song I've already memorized. I'll just play it from memory even though I'm looking at the music I'm not
really reading. If you have anything to offer on either of those subjects I would be really grateful. Thanks for taking the
time for us."

"I look forward to any ideas you might have to help any aspiring pianists like
me"
"Hello Graham,
Thanks for your email. Yes, the short course was very useful - having last played piano to beginning of grade 3, 52 or so years
ago, it was a necessary refresher! And nice to be able to do things at my pace and make as many mistakes as I like - my last
teacher favoured a rap across the knuckles with a wooden ruler as a corrective measure, and needless to say it wasn't very
effective.
Following my long-term ambition I have finally bought a Yamaha Clavinova, and found your site through the Internet. After
finishing your course I took your advice, and am now working through the Rocket Music Course (very early days yet) - which looks
to be excellent. Hopefully I'll get there - never too late to learn, I believe!
Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to any ideas you might have to help any aspiring pianists like me. Kindest
regards,"

"Thank you for the piano course, which I found very basic but helpful"
"Thank you for the piano course, which I found very basic but helpful. The most helpful lesson
was the one about hand positions and fingering. Some diagrams to back up the lessons would be useful for any future
material, as too much written content can be difficult to follow.
Thanks once again."

"Its very nice that you offer something for beginners who are trying to see what playing the piano is
about"
"Your mini course seems like it would be very helpful for beginners. I personally already have
prior piano instruction and so It wasn't exactly what I needed. But its very nice that you offer something for beginners
who are trying to see what playing the piano is about.
I only took piano lessons for two months (my lessons were cut short because my teacher moved to a
different state) and am mostly self taught. So I still have a lot to learn although I know most of the basics. Thanks for the
course."

Dear Sir
Howard,
"Thank you very much for spending time and effort in sending me emails. These are
really suitable for me as beginner. I still even have to learn reading the notes since I forgot already my elementary lessons,
and yes, the very basic guide is what I really want. I learnt a lot from it.
I will give you some updates soon of how far I learnt in playing piano. "
Thank you, Charlou Asares
